Public Enterprises Holding and Administration gave an experience sharing training to Addis Ababa City Administration Public Enterprises Administration Authority on May 24, 2024 at the Hilton Hotel meeting hall.

Public Enterprises Holding and Administration had its own contribution when Addis Ababa Public Enterprises Administration Authority is established. The Administration gave this practice-based training according to the request of the Authority. The training aimed at making the authority more effective and efficient. It contains issues like historical background of the Public Enterprises Holding and Administration, performance management in Public Enterprises, KPIs in operational and financial performance, and corporate governance and finance implementation.

His Excellency Mr. Habtamu Hailemichael, Director General of Public Enterprises Holding and Administration, made an opening speech and stated that the operating system and management of public enterprises need consideration while overseeing SOEs. He also said that the administration has shared its experience with countries like Zimbabwe, and expressed his faith that the authority will get necessary experience from the Administration. The Director General also assured that if needed, the administration would provide further support to the authority.

Further issues covered by the training are studying the categories of public enterprises, systems that can make public enterprises effective, possible challenges in implementing systems, support and follow up activities, planning and evaluation ,IFRS implementation and others.

Leaders of the authority expressed that the training would give them additional experience in their performance and uttered their gratitude to the administration’s contribution made on the establishment process of the authority.
